I believe the local church is God's primary context for developing ministry leaders.

As a National Church Planting Catalyst with Send Network, I help churches discover, develop, and deploy church planters and church planting teams across North America. My particular passion is helping churches become places where pastors, church planters, missionaries, and ministry leaders are identified, trained, and sent through local church Residency.

I also serve as Residency Director at Family Church in South Florida, where I lead a multi-site, bilingual Residency that equips men and women for ministry through theological education, spiritual formation, hands-on ministry, and coaching. Along the way, I've had the privilege of helping churches, networks, and seminaries work together to strengthen leadership development for the next generation.

I served as an associate pastor in two churches in Illinois for 17 years. I have a Bachelor of Music Education from Florida State University, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Christian Philosophy from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I'm the author of The Complete Seminary Survival Guide and host of the Church Residency Podcast.

When I'm not teaching, coaching, or recording podcast episodes, you'll usually find me working out, traveling internationally, or enjoying long conversations with friends.
